I have a research degree in chemistry and have had a career in science education, the public understanding of science and, science policy plnning and curriculum planning.
More recently I have been engaged in development planning in my Parish of Martock which is in the valley of the River Parrett on the upstream edge of the Somerset Moors and Levels.
A blanket ban on development in the Parish catchment area has recently been introduced because of nutrient pollution of the Somerset Levels which contain several wetland sites of national and international importance. This phosphate study has been undertaken to address an apparent void in our understanding of the fine grain details of nutrient pollution in the area.
